  • CARA

    Director: Charlotte Daniel
    Producer: Sophie Chater

    Currently in post-production.

CARA is the third short from award-winning writer and director Charlotte Daniel. Cara (Leah Balmforth) has a poet's soul, but can't show it. Secretly she writes poems in her hidden notebook at home. During the day, she blindly follows her 'friends', delinquents who taunt anyone for being different, and at night, she desperately tries to get on with her life in a neglectful home. When her English Teacher, Miss Ingram (Lindsey Campbell), discovers Cara's talent, she takes a special interest in her and pushes her to write more.

Cara is emboldened by Miss Ignram's belief in her. It propels her, she feels that maybe it is reciprocated, until an inappropriate act binds Cara to her fate.
